Here at The Pacific Dental we understand how the appearance
of your teeth can
affect the way you feel about yourself. We will listen
sympathetically to your concerns and advise you on suitable
treatment options to achieve your desired result.
We offer a wide range of cosmetic treatments using the
latest dental technology including:
Tooth Whitening
The teeth can be restored to their natural colour by
tooth whitening. This can be achieved in the surgery
with power bleaching or at home using a mild bleaching
gel placed in small trays that are worn at night. Both
techniques produce an improvement in the brightness
of the teeth with only minimal treatment.
White Fillings
There are now many techniques available to restore
broken or decayed teeth using tooth coloured filling
materials. We use both composite and porcelain restorations,
matched to your own natural tooth colour. They are bonded
by a special adhesive into your tooth, adding to the
retention of the filling and sealing the tooth.
Veneers
A veneer is a very fine facing made of porcelain which
is bonded onto your natural tooth. The primary function
is to improve the appearance and involves minimal preparation
of your tooth. Veneers can be used in cases where the
teeth are chipped, discoloured or crowded. They are
most frequently used on your upper or lower front teeth.
Crowns
A crown ( .cap .) is a covering placed over
the top of your own natural tooth to restore it for
both function and aesthetics. Crowns will greatly enhance
the appearance of heavily filled, chipped, discoloured
or misshapen teeth. They help prevent fracture of heavily
restored and root treated teeth. In some cases they
can be used to correct a malalignment of teeth where
straightening is not an option.
Bridges
A bridge is used as a permanent replacement for one
or more missing teeth. They are both aesthetic and functional.
A bridge will restore your natural bite and prevent
unwanted movement of the adjacent teeth and over eruption
teeth opposite the gap.
In simple terms they can be viewed as crowns cemented
on the supporting teeth joined to fixed false teeth
in between to .bridge the gap .. They are
a very desirable alternative to a removable partial
denture.
Implants
An implant is placed into your jaw to act as an anchor
for a single crown, a bridge or to secure a denture.
This is a specialised treatment and Esther is very fortunate
to be able to offer you this service here at Pacific Dental Associates. |
